The Direct Ink, roller pen strikes a balance between the air inside the ink tank and the air outside.
But when an aircraft gains altitude, or whenever there is a significant change in temperature, the balance breaks down and the air inside the roller pen inflates. With the pressure of the inflated air inside the ink tank, the ink cannot go anywhere else and it is forced to leak out of the pen. |

Ink leaks are caused when air inside the ink tank inflates. We have therefore adopted a sub tank with an internal lining to reduce air volume without reducing ink volume (patent pending.)
Since the internal lining reduces the space in which air can inflate inside the ink tank, it stops the ink from leaking. |
